The Ministry of Development informs citizens that a deceptive email is being circulated, falsely claiming to come from the Ministry.

In an announcement, the Ministry clarified that a fraudulent email is being sent, supposedly originating from the Ministry of Development, regarding a “Free Holiday Package.”

It is explicitly stated that this is an attempt to deceive.

The Cyber Crime Unit has already been informed.

What the fraudulent email says:

The fake email, which appears to come from the Ministry of Development, is as follows:

Dear citizens,

By direct order of the Minister of Development, Mr. Takis Theodorikakos, and fully funded by the Social Cohesion Fund, the National Program “Christmas Family Rescue 2025” begins IMMEDIATELY. EVERY Greek family—regardless of income—is entitled to receive a completely FREE holiday package filled with premium Greek products, so that no home in our country goes without joy and abundance during the holidays.

The package includes:

1 lamb or goat (8-10 kg)

1 turkey (4-5 kg)

2 kg premium beef (for “mageiritsa” or roast)

5 liters of excellent extra virgin olive oil

3 kg thyme honey

2 kg fresh cow butter

2 Christmas loaves + 2 New Year’s cakes
