Attiki Odos: Section that had been closed reopens to traffic

The section of Attiki Odos from the Aspropyrgos entrance to the Fyli Avenue entrance, in the direction towards the Airport, has been reopened to traffic. The road had been closed in order for necessary technical works to be carried out.

Authorities reopened the closed section of Attiki Odos on Friday morning (20/2), following major maintenance works in the Liosion tunnel, which had caused disruption to thousands of drivers.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the repair of the technical issue that arose during the heavy maintenance works was completed two days earlier than originally scheduled.
The Ministry’s announcement
“Tomorrow, Friday 20 February at 06:00 a.m., the section of Attiki Odos from the Aspropyrgos entrance to the Fyli Avenue entrance, in the direction towards the Airport, will be reopened to traffic, following the temporary closure required for necessary technical works.
The restoration of the technical problem that emerged during the heavy maintenance works was completed two days ahead of the original schedule, as a result of the cooperation between the Ministry and the concessionaire, whose crews worked intensively and continuously.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport thanks drivers for their patience and for complying with Traffic Police instructions during these necessary works.”
However, engineering teams that inspected the bridge at the Fyli Avenue exit decided that certain support and maintenance works will need to continue after next Monday. Therefore, one or two lanes will continue to be closed in sections, mainly during nighttime hours.
Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) announcement
Further to the Press Release of the Athens Police Directorate (G.A.D.A.) dated 15-2-2026 regarding the extension of the emergency traffic measures on Attiki Odos, and due to the early completion of the emergency heavy maintenance works in the “Liosion” tunnel, the full closure of the following entrance ramps to Attiki Odos, in the direction towards the Airport, within the municipalities of Mandra–Eidyllia, Elefsina, Aspropyrgos and Fyli, is lifted as of 06:00 on Friday 20-2-2026, as follows:
Mandra (Interchange 1)
Magoula (Interchange 2)
Aspropyrgos (Interchange 4)
Aigaleo (Interchange 5)
