Farmers are escalating their protests with thousands of tractors and blockades across the country, demanding immediate solutions.

Farmers across the country are intensifying their protests, setting up blockades on key roads and steadily increasing the number of tractors involved.

The protests are particularly intense in Thessaly, where the Athens-Thessaloniki highway and the E-65 remain closed. The blockades are now spreading to Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus, and Western Greece.

In Kiaton, clashes with the police and the use of tear gas occurred when farmers attempted to block the Olympia Highway.

Farmers in Nikaia have decided to continue their protests until Sunday, reinforcing their blockades and preparing for new actions.

Kallipaki
The road in Kallipaki was fully reopened just after 10:00 PM. The farmers had kept the area closed for several hours, and their coordination committee is expected to decide on their next steps.

Malgaras Toll Booth
In Malgaras, farmers closed the lane towards Thessaloniki for about an hour. The lane towards Athens has remained closed since Monday, and they have stated they will not open it until their protest is finished.

Nikaia Larissa Blockade
At one of the largest blockades in the country, in Nikaia, the number of tractors increases daily. Due to bad weather, no new actions are expected until Sunday, but next week, mass demonstrations in city centers and the closure of side roads are being considered. Tomorrow, a gathering is scheduled at the Larissa Courthouse for the trial of two individuals arrested during Sunday’s clashes.

Promachonas
Farmers reached the Promachonas border checkpoint after a lengthy effort. On Thursday at 12:00, they will decide whether to close the checkpoint and for how long. Proposals include blocking only trucks carrying agricultural products, as well as a complete closure. Bulgarian television crews are at the scene covering the protest.

E-65 in Karditsa
At the Karditsa junction on the E-65 blockade, over 2,000 farming vehicles have gathered. Tomorrow, a delegation will attend the trial of those arrested in Larissa, while a demonstration in Karditsa is scheduled for Friday, with participation depending on the weather.

Western Greece – Patras – Pyrgos
A new blockade was set up on the old Patras-Pyrgos highway in the area of Lower Achaia, where approximately 35 tractors blocked the road for an hour. The protests will continue in the coming days in Erymanthos, Aigialeia, Aetolia-Acarnania, Aktio, and Angelokastro, with daily meetings to determine their strategy.

Kiaton
Tensions arose in Kiaton when about 200 farmers clashed with the police. Tear gas was used, and the road was closed for about an hour. Tomorrow’s protest has been postponed to Friday.

Evzones
After 9:30 PM, the Evzones checkpoint was opened, where farmers had already allowed the passage of trucks carrying Greek products and emergency vehicles. The blockade, which was set up on December 1st, is being reinforced daily, and more tractors from Giannitsa are expected tomorrow.
