Farmers to arrive in Athens with tractors

The nationwide farmers’ meeting held today (4/2) in Nikaia, Larissa has concluded.
Farmers and livestock breeders decided to hold a rally in the center of Athens on Friday, February 13th. They have also decided on a mass arrival with tractors, as the president of the Union of Agricultural Associations of Karditsa, Kostas Tzellas, tells NEWS 24/7, nothing has changed since the meeting with the Prime Minister on January 19th.
According to the vice president of the Federation of Agricultural Associations of Larissa, Sokratis Aleiftiras, farmers decided to stay overnight in Syntagma Square on Friday night and return to their areas the next day, Saturday. He explains that bringing a tractor from Thessaly to Athens is costly and time-consuming. For this reason, they will discuss how many tractors will participate.
For this reason, most of the tractors are expected to come from roadblocks closer to Athens.
According to the farmers, local gatherings will take place in cities where there were previous roadblocks on Sunday and Monday, February 8th and 9th, respectively.
The national committee of the roadblocks will decide in the coming days on the details of the mobilizations.
