The holiday schedule for retail stores for the 2025 Christmas period will come into effect starting next Thursday (11/12).
As noted, the schedule is indicative and optional.
Each business may adjust its operating hours according to its own needs and capabilities, within the framework defined by the state and the applicable legislation (Monday–Saturday 06:00–21:00, Sunday 11:00–20:00).
The proposed schedule is as follows:

Holiday shopping hours in Thessaloniki
The holiday shopping schedule for Thessaloniki’s retail stores begins on 13 December, with the city’s Commercial Association recommending optional Sunday openings on 14, 21 and 28 December, from 11:00 to 18:00. For 2 January 2026, it recommends that stores remain closed.
According to today’s announcement by the Thessaloniki Commercial Association (EΣΘ), on weekdays between 13–30 December, retail stores will operate from 10:00 to 21:00, and on Saturdays (13, 20, 27 December) from 10:00 to 18:00.
On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve (24/12 and 31/12), stores will operate from 10:00 until 18:00.
Stores will remain closed on Christmas Day, Friday 26/12, New Year’s Day, and the second day of the new year.
