The auditors of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue achieved another significant success. Following a special data analysis, 161 vehicles that violated the immobility regime were referred for inspection and identified.
Specifically, the AADE auditors carried out a series of targeted inspections in Attica, Thessaloniki, Kilkis, Thessaly, and Crete for the illegal circulation of vehicles that had been declared immobilized.
Specifically, they identified 123 cars and 38 motorcycles that violated the immobilization regime, many of which had high commercial value. The main findings concerned immobilized vehicles that had license plates, vehicles registered as stationary in a location other than where they were found, as well as many dismantled vehicles intended for sale as spare parts without complying with the prescribed procedures.
Specifically, in the prefecture of Trikala, during an inspection of a used car and spare parts dealership, 102 vehicles were found to be in commercial use, despite being required to be immobilized. In addition, three vehicles were found for which the required registration fee had not been paid.
In Thessaloniki, inspections recorded 11 cars that violated the immobilization regime, while in the prefecture of Heraklion, violations were found in 38 motorcycles and 1 vehicle.
In Attica, checks identified nine vehicles that were in circulation in violation of the immobilization regime.
In all of the above cases, an administrative fine of €10,000 is imposed for each violation, exceeding a total of €1.6 million, while in the event of a repeat offense, the fine is tripled.
