The post by Michalis Katrinis regarding the arrest of his 16-year-old son following a police chase in Chalandri.

PASOK MP Michalis Katrinis made a public post about the arrest of his 16-year-old son in the early hours of Tuesday (16/12), after a police chase in Chalandri.

“The law applies to everyone,” he wrote, among other things.

The post by Michalis Katrinis:

“My younger son was driving without a license.
An unjustified and illegal act.
The law applies to everyone.
As a father, I feel devastated and I take responsibility for what corresponds to me, without half-truths or evasions.
As parents, we stand by our child, with persuasion, reason, and love.
The law applies to everyone.
Without exception.”

It is recalled that, according to what became known earlier, an OPKE patrol spotted at the junction of Mesogeion Avenue and Tzavela Street a car carrying six underage boys, among them the 16-year-old driver and son of the MP.

Police officers signaled the vehicle to stop, but the driver did not comply and accelerated.

A chase followed, with the driver even entering one-way streets in the wrong direction in an attempt to escape. Eventually, police managed to immobilize the vehicle on Apostolopoulou Street, where all occupants were taken in.

The 16-year-old son of the MP, who obviously did not possess a driving license, was arrested for dangerous driving and disobedience. In addition, a 15-year-old friend of his was arrested for illegal possession of a weapon, as a kitchen knife was found carefully hidden on him.

The remaining four minors were released.

The police also arrested the mother of the 16-year-old and wife of the MP for neglect of supervision of a minor; she was later released on the prosecutor’s verbal order.
