Kipseli: The 64-year-old brutally beat the mother after she prevented the rape of her second daughter

The new information about the sexual assault against two 25-year-old twin sisters with disabilities, allegedly committed by a 64-year-old man known to the family, is causing outrage.

The man has been identified and is being sought by the authorities.

According to the complaint filed by the mother of the two women, the incident took place in an apartment in Kypseli shortly after 10 a.m. on Saturday (21/2), while she was away. As she claimed, the 64-year-old entered the home and sexually abused one of her twin daughters, and allegedly attempted to assault the second as well.

The mother realized what was happening through cameras installed in the apartment. As she described, she saw one of her daughters crying and immediately returned home.

When she arrived, she grabbed a frying pan and a knife and began chasing the 64-year-old in order to catch him. However, he managed to escape and immediately called the police. Meanwhile, in disturbing video footage broadcast by MEGA on Sunday night (22/2)—which NEWS 24/7 has chosen not to reproduce—he can be seen brutally beating the mother, striking her repeatedly with slaps, punches and kicks all over her face.

“He started hitting me, insulting me, and hitting my child, whom he molested, punching her in the eye,” she said yesterday while speaking to the same television station.

Officers from the DIAS motorcycle unit rushed to the area and began searching for the 64-year-old, while an EKAV ambulance transported one of the 25-year-olds, who had sustained minor injuries, to Thriasio Hospital. The young woman was examined by a forensic medical examiner.

According to the complaint, the alleged perpetrator had been known to the family for years, as he had met the mother through a local parish and reportedly helped occasionally with errands and shopping, which allowed him access to the apartment.

The case remains ongoing, with authorities having identified the man and continuing efforts to locate and arrest him, while the results of the forensic examination are pending.
