Kolonos: The husband of the dead pregnant woman is the main suspect

The mystery surrounding the death of the 31-year-old pregnant woman, who was nearly four months into her pregnancy, remains unsolved. She was found dead yesterday, half an hour after 3 p.m., at her home on Kalikratidou Street in Kolonos, with a head injury.

The unfortunate woman was reportedly found by her 38-year-old husband, a delivery driver, who returned home and called an ambulance. The paramedics confirmed her death and called the police, who in turn called a coroner to the scene.

The coroner determined that the head injury did not match the husband’s claim that she fell down the stairs. She also had a bruise, which led to the husband’s detention by the Kolonos Security Police. The investigation was later taken over by the Athens Security Subdivision. Despite being questioned throughout the night, the 38-year-old persistently denied any involvement in her death, claiming he simply found her that way.

Police, however, remain unconvinced, and the scene was re-examined this morning. According to sources, a statement from the coroner is expected, and a file will be opened against him for manslaughter. A forensic autopsy report is expected tomorrow. Preliminary investigations have revealed that there were issues of substance abuse in the couple’s relationship, as well as verbal arguments, but no history of domestic violence.
