Loutsa: The moment the 15-year-old loses control of the vehicle

The fatal traffic accident that occurred on Friday afternoon (13/2) at the intersection of Demokratias Avenue and Sotiros Street in Loutsa has shocked the community. The tragic toll is one 15-year-old dead and two other 15-year-olds hospitalized with injuries.

The incident happened when the car carrying the minors veered off course for reasons that remain unknown. The vehicle struck the sidewalk curb and then crashed into a tree.

Video published by ERT shows the white car carrying the three minors moving at high speed, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which then hit the left curb and crashed into a tree at the intersection of Demokratias Avenue and Sotiros Street.

Before traffic police arrived, EKAB ambulances picked up the 15-year-olds and transported them to Aglaia Kyriakou Children’s Hospital.

There, the death of the 15-year-old was confirmed.

The other two children have scratches on their faces. The necessary examinations will be carried out and they will be hospitalized in the surgical clinic, as there is a risk they may have suffered head injuries.

According to reports, one of the minors had secretly taken his parents’ vehicle to go for a drive with his friends, which led to the fatal outcome.

At this time, the parents of the minors are giving statements to the traffic police, and the prosecutor will subsequently decide on their criminal treatment.
