“Thank you very much for the love, and my moral satisfaction is that I have not been forgotten,” says the journalist, two years after the fire at his home, which caused the death of his wife.

Two years after the fire at his home, sports journalist Manolis Mavrommatis is preparing to be discharged from the rehabilitation center where he has been receiving treatment.

The journalist spoke on the “Happy Day” show about the progress of his health, the loss of his wife, and the emotional support he has received from the public.

“My condition has improved according to the doctors, and now we are entering the final stage of rehabilitation to see how and when I can leave the clinic. I won’t be leaving immediately. Psychologically, I’m doing better, and my doctors tell me that I’m doing well. The latest tests show that everything is functioning normally. Therefore, the doctors are optimistic in this regard,” Mr. Mavrommatis said initially.

“There is no family. I lost my wife. My son is in London because he works there, so we only talk on the phone. But there is strength in life. During all this time, the visits I’ve received have surpassed all expectations, and it is a great emotional satisfaction for me that neither the public nor my friends and colleagues have forgotten me,” he said emotionally.

“It was one blow after another. My house burned down, and I lost my wife, the most important thing in this story. One floor of the house is uninhabitable. There needs to be an investigation to see what the builders say and whether we can fix it. I’m also looking for a woman, the right person, who will work either 24 hours a day or in 12-hour shifts to take care of me.”

“Thank you very much for the love, and my moral satisfaction is that I have not been forgotten. It was a tragedy when you lose the person you’ve lived with for 40 years,” Mr. Mavrommatis concluded.
