The burned vehicle of the perpetrators who kidnapped and murdered the 27-year-old in New Perama was found
As revealed by MEGA, on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 17, the car used by the perpetrators to execute the 27-year-old was found burned in the Mandra area, specifically near the Monastery of Saint John Korakas.
It is worth noting that Mandra is the area where the last footage of the vehicle was recorded by a tavern’s security camera.
According to the same information, last Sunday, the 27-year-old’s uncle, along with his partner, was searching for the exact spot in the stream in New Perama where the 27-year-old was executed, to place a few flowers in his memory.
Completely by chance, at that time, they encountered two hikers. They asked them if they knew the location, and they replied that they were very familiar with the area, as they ran there daily. They also mentioned they had seen a burned car near the Monastery of Saint John Korakas.
Without wasting any time, the 27-year-old’s uncle, in his own car, went to the area but was unable to find the vehicle. He quickly contacted the Homicide Division of the Police, which is handling the investigation.
Today, an operation was launched in a remote area in Mandra, and the vehicle was located, being transported to the forensic laboratories. According to reports, the weapon used in the execution has not been found inside the burned car.
The Timeline of the Kidnapping and Murder of the 27-Year-Old in New Perama
The body of the 27-year-old was accidentally discovered on Sunday, February 1, by a hiker in a remote area and a stream on Mount Kandili, near the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity, in New Perama. On January 26, around 2:00 AM on Monday, the 27-year-old, who was out, returned home in Elefsina. As he had forgotten his keys, he rang the bell for his girlfriend to let him in.
Although she opened the door for him, she saw that he was taking too long to come upstairs, so she went down but didn’t see him and initially thought he had left again. The next morning, after reviewing footage from neighbors’ cameras, she became worried and filed a missing person report with the Elefsina Police Station.
The police officers who went to the scene reviewed the footage from neighboring houses and a café and discovered that at least two unknown men, under the threat of weapons, immobilized him and forced him into a car. It is suspected that there was at least one more accomplice as the driver, and possibly a fourth individual.
It was discovered that the car’s license plates were counterfeit and “duplicated” from real plates and a vehicle in the Thessaloniki area.
