Patras: The scenarios being investigated by authorities for 16-Year-old Laura who is missing

For the fifth day, the 16-year-old from Patras remains missing. What did her classmate say, and what scenarios are the Greek authorities considering regarding where the minor might be?

A state of alarm has been raised due to the disappearance of 16-year-old Laura from Patras. Her disappearance was reported on January 8 by her father.

“She told us she was going to class. She got dressed, put on her bag, and we haven’t seen her since. Classmates saw her getting on the bus, but she never reached the classroom,” said her father, according to ERT.

The only clue available to the authorities is the 16-year-old’s bag, which was found by locals in a trash bin in Zografou.

“She confided in me that she wanted to go somewhere. She had a very difficult time adjusting to life in Greece, both because of the language and the school environment. Recently, she was selling clothes, bags, and cosmetics, saying she ‘no longer recognized herself.’ She told me she has a brother in Germany, whom she has never met and wanted to find,” said a classmate of the 16-year-old.

Laura had lived with her family in Germany, and they moved to Patras three years ago.

The Man Who Appeared in Video with the 16-Year-Old Turns Himself In

The man who met with 16-year-old Laura on the day she went missing in Patras voluntarily appeared at the Rion Police Station. According to information from ERT, the man claimed that the meeting took place so the minor could sell her mobile phone to his daughter.

Specifically, according to his statements, the 16-year-old had posted an ad online to sell her mobile phone. After communicating with the 16-year-old, the man went to the meeting point with his daughter to buy the device.

The Scenarios Being Investigated by the Authorities

One of the scenarios being investigated by the authorities, according to ERT, is that the 16-year-old stayed in Zografou, where there is a metro station through which she could have traveled to the airport and from there flown to Germany to meet her brother.

Another scenario is that she had already been in contact with someone who encouraged her to travel to Athens, where they would host her and help her financially to travel to Germany.

The Greek Police are awaiting boarding lists from all airlines with flights to foreign countries and, in collaboration with the German authorities, are looking for any relatives of the 16-year-old who might be able to host her there.
