The two farmers who were arrested on Sunday during clashes with police at the Nikaia roadblock are being tried today.

A solidarity gathering is being held outside the Larissa Court as two farmers who were arrested on Sunday during clashes with police at the Nikaia roadblock are being tried today, Thursday, at the Misdemeanor Court.

The farmers are condemning the violent crackdown by the Greek police (ELAS) and are demanding the release of their fellow farmers, as well as the fulfillment of their demands. The arrested farmers are expected to appear in court after 1:00 PM.

Some farmers are also arriving with a symbolic number of tractors to show support.

Farmers from the E-65 roadblock in Karditsa are also present, demonstrating their solidarity with the arrested individuals.

Meanwhile, farmers and livestock breeders across the country are intensifying their protests.

The main protests in Thessaly continue, where the Athens-Thessaloniki National Road and the E-65 remain blocked. These roadblocks are now spreading to Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus, and Western Greece.

Internal investigation for video showing riot police van colliding with tractors at Promachonas

Meanwhile, a disturbing video from the Promachonas roadblock, specifically from the Petrich Junction, shows a riot police van colliding with tractors, with farmers attempting to stop it.

The video, posted by Voria.gr, was filmed on Wednesday morning when a tense standoff unfolded between farmers and police as the farmers tried to reach the Promachonas customs checkpoint.

In response to the incident, the Greek police (ELAS) have initiated an internal investigation (EDE) to determine the circumstances under which the driver decided to take such dangerous actions.
