The 3 regions where the bad weather will “hit”

A deterioration in weather conditions with locally heavy rain and thunderstorms is expected over the next two days.

Specifically, according to the HNMS emergency bulletin, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast:

On Tuesday (18-11-25) and Wednesday (19-11-25):

– in the northern Ionian (mainly the areas of Corfu and Paxos) and Epirus
– from Tuesday midday in the western and northern sections of Aetolia-Acarnania.

According to meteorologist Thodoris Kolydas, temperatures will not change until Friday. However, over the weekend, a noticeable drop in temperature is expected.

How the bad weather will move

FORECAST FOR TUESDAY 18-11-2025

In the west and north, clouds with local rain. Scattered thunderstorms are expected in the northern Ionian, Epirus, western Central Greece, and Thrace. The phenomena will be locally strong in the northern Ionian (mainly Corfu and Paxos), Epirus, and from midday in the western and northern parts of Aetolia-Acarnania.

Elsewhere in the country, thin clouds, occasionally denser.

Weather conditions favor the transport of African dust.

Winds: From southerly directions 4–6 Beaufort, 7 in the seas, locally 8 in the northern Aegean.

Temperature: No significant change. Reaching 18–20°C in the north, 21–23°C elsewhere, and locally 24–25°C in the south.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

Weather: Cloudy with rain. Scattered thunderstorms in Thrace and from midday in western Macedonia.
Winds: Southerlies 4–5, and in the east locally 6–7 Beaufort.
Temperature: 11–20°C. In western Macedonia 2–3°C lower.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN STEREA, WESTERN PELOPONNESE

Weather: Locally heavy rain and thunderstorms in the northern Ionian (mainly Corfu and Paxos), Epirus, and from midday in western/northern Aetolia-Acarnania. Elsewhere, clouds with local rain, mainly in the southern Ionian.
Winds: South-southeasterlies 4–5, in the Ionian 6–7 Beaufort.
Temperature: 14–23°C. In inland Epirus 3–4°C lower.

THESSALY, EASTERN STEREA, EUBOEA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE

Weather: In Thessaly, clouds with local rain and isolated storms, mainly in the west. Elsewhere, thin clouds occasionally denser, with possible light local rain in southern Euboea.
Winds: South-southwesterlies 4–5, up to 6 in the east, and locally 7 in Euboea.
Temperature: 13–23°C. Minimum 2–3°C lower in the north.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Weather: Thin clouds, occasionally denser.
Winds: Southerlies 5–6 Beaufort.
Temperature: 17–24°C, up to 25°C in northern Crete.

EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANESE

Weather: Thin clouds, occasionally denser.
Winds: Southerlies 5–6, locally 7 Beaufort in the northeastern Aegean.
Temperature: 18–24°C.

ATTICA

Weather: Thin clouds, occasionally denser.
Winds: South-southwesterlies 5–6, locally 7 Beaufort in the east and south.
Temperature: 14–23°C.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: Cloudy with local rain.
Winds: Southeast 3–4 Beaufort.
Temperature: 12–20°C.

FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY 19-11-2025

In the west and north, increased clouds with local rain and scattered thunderstorms, mainly in the northwest. In the northern Ionian islands (mainly Corfu and Paxos), Epirus, and the northern/western parts of Aetolia-Acarnania, phenomena will be locally strong. Elsewhere, thin clouds, occasionally denser, with possible light rain in the eastern Aegean islands.

Weather conditions favor African dust transport.

Winds: Southerlies 4–6, locally 7 Beaufort in the northern Aegean.
Temperature: Slight drop. Reaching 17–19°C in the north, 20–22°C elsewhere, and 23–24°C in the south.

FORECAST FOR THURSDAY 20-11-2025

In the west, north, and the eastern Aegean, increased clouds with local rain. Scattered thunderstorms in western Central Greece, western Peloponnese, southern Ionian, and by night in the northern Ionian and Epirus. Elsewhere, few clouds, locally increased in the morning.

African dust transport continues.

Winds: Southerlies 4–6, and in the northern Aegean up to 7 Beaufort until midday.
Temperature: No significant change.

FORECAST FOR FRIDAY 21-11-2025

In the west and north, rain and scattered thunderstorms in the northwest. Elsewhere, thin clouds, occasionally denser, mainly over the eastern Aegean with local rain.

Weather conditions favor African dust transport mainly in central and southern areas.

Winds: Southerlies; 6–7 Beaufort in the west, 5–6 in the east, and 7 in the northern Aegean from midday.
Temperature: Slight rise in maximum temperatures in central and southern regions.

In the west, north, and the eastern Aegean, increased clouds with local rain. Thunderstorms will occur in the northern Ionian. Elsewhere, thin clouds, occasionally denser.

Weather conditions favor African dust transport mainly in central and southern areas.

Winds: Southerlies 4–6, locally 7 Beaufort in the Ionian and southeastern Aegean.
