A well-known former TV presenter has been convicted of revenge porn. He had received the same sentence last May for a similar act against another victim.

A well-known TV presenter was sentenced to three years in prison, suspended for three years, by the Three-Member Court of Appeal for Felonies in Thessaloniki, for posting online intimate videos involving a former romantic partner.

The 61-year-old defendant faced charges of using and transmitting to unauthorized third parties personal data files concerning an individual’s sexual life, with the intent to harm another person, committed repeatedly.

Although the offense was brought to court as a felony, the judges downgraded it to a misdemeanor, ruling that it was not committed with the intent to cause harm. The trial was held behind closed doors, with the victim as the main witness. The presenter did not attend and was represented by his attorneys.

Through his lawyers, he apologized to the victim, admitting to the act and stating that he did not intend to harm her or obtain financial gain. Apart from reclassifying the offense as a misdemeanor, the court also granted him a mitigating factor. He had already been sentenced last May to the same penalty for a similar act against another woman, while another case (a third one) on the same matter is still pending before criminal courts.
