Zografou: Mother and daughter found dead in sealed room – son brought in for questioning

A grim case is unfolding following the discovery of two dead women in an advanced state of decomposition inside an apartment on Kousidi Street in Zografou.

The 54-year-old son of the family has been taken in for questioning. He is reportedly dealing with psychological issues and is currently being examined.

Police went to the apartment after relatives reported that they had not seen or heard from the 91-year-old mother and the 56-year-old daughter for at least two months, expressing fears that the son might have harmed them. According to information, all members of the family were facing psychological problems.

Initially, when officers arrived at the scene, the son denied that his mother and sister lived there and directed them to another address, where it was established that they did not reside and that he had been lying. Relatives insisted that the two women lived on Kousidi Street and, late at night and in the presence of a prosecutor, officers broke down the door and entered the apartment.

Inside the home, police discovered a room with a closed door that had been almost built up and sealed with construction materials. Upon entering, they found the two women dead and in an advanced state of decomposition.

The son was brought in from the scene and is being questioned. From the initial assessment, the medical examiner cannot draw conclusions regarding possible signs of criminal activity due to the condition of the bodies. This is expected to be clarified by the autopsy to follow, while the 54-year-old claims to the police that he is unaware of what has happened.
