A series of seismic tremors have been recorded since the morning of Friday (20/03) in the area of Ioannina. The largest measured 4.6 on the Richter scale.

A series of earthquakes greater than 4 Richter has been occurring since the morning of Friday (20/03) in the Epirus region, near Ioannina.
According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, the first seismic tremor was of magnitude 4.6, with its epicenter located 10 kilometers north-northeast of Agia Kyriaki, Ioannina. The focal depth was estimated at 20.3 km.
Shortly after, another seismic event of the same magnitude, 4.6 on the Richter scale, occurred, with its epicenter 12 km north-northwest of Agia Kyriaki, Ioannina. About ten minutes later, another tremor was recorded, weaker this time.
According to the Geodynamic Institute of Athens, this earthquake was of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located 11 km north-northwest of Agia Kyriaki, Ioannina.
It is worth noting that two days ago, a 4.1 Richter earthquake occurred in the same area of Agia Kyriaki, Ioannina.
