Two workers at a tire repair shop in Astros Kynourias lost their lives due to electrocution.

A workplace accident occurred at noon on Monday in the area of Agios Andreas, in the coastal part of Northern Kynouria.

According to ERT, a vehicle commonly known as a “papagalaki” (small crane truck), while attempting to move heavy-duty tires at a local tire shop, came into contact with high-voltage power lines, resulting in the electrocution of the two workers.

Ambulances from EKAB, as well as a crew from the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (DEDDIE), rushed immediately to the scene.

The two men were found unconscious and transported to the Astros Health Center, where, according to initial reports, their deaths were confirmed.

So far, their identities have not been disclosed, while the exact causes of the accident are being investigated by the competent authorities.
