Kiato: How the workplace accident with the 40-year-old woman occurred – “Plastic surgeons fought in the operating room”

New information regarding the condition of the 40-year-old woman, who was severely injured on her head while working and is hospitalized at the Gennimatas Hospital, was shared by Dr. Matina Pagoni during an interview on MEGA on the morning of Friday (April 3rd). “We should say that the woman is in good condition, but with what has happened, her life is not in danger. She stood up yesterday, and the plastic surgeons fought hard in the operating room. It’s also the pain she has and her psychological state,” Dr. Pagoni said.

As it was reported, during the work, a machine “caught” the woman’s hair and tore off part of her scalp and epidermis. Immediately, her colleague took her to the local health center with his vehicle where first aid was administered, and she was later transferred to the Corinth Hospital and subsequently to Gennimatas.

The woman, who was in a state of shock, had extensive injuries to her head, with the loss of skin from her forehead to her scalp. In a bag that her companion carried, there was the detached skin with her hair.

The spokesperson of the Hellenic Police, Konstantina Dimoglou, commented:

“The police were immediately notified, as the woman was initially taken to the Health Center, then to the Corinth hospital, but it was deemed necessary to transfer her to an Athens hospital, which was done. Of course, the owner of the company was arrested, as this is a workplace accident. Furthermore, as we learned later through the preliminary investigation, the woman is a foreigner, not legally residing in the country, and was working illegally in this business. It does not appear that she was working legally. A case file was created against the business owner. However, he was later released following an oral order. Police officers are taking statements from the company staff.
