With a video on social media, Alexis Tsipras issues a new call for Tuesday, May 26, at Thiseio Square, where he is expected to announce the new party.

In a post on Sunday morning (24/5), Alexis Tsipras revealed the colours of the new party, which carry a… Barcelona vibe.
The former prime minister, holding a football and standing in front of a Barcelona jersey, is heard saying: “We are building a championship team. We’ve found the colours: the blue of our homeland, the red of our struggles. The rest on Tuesday, May 26, at Thiseio at 8 p.m. I’m waiting for you all there.”
It is worth noting that Tsipras’ love for Barcelona is well known.
Just a few days earlier, he had posted a shirt of the team with the number 26, previewing the event in Thiseio, while shortly before the 2026 elections he had said: “If SYRIZA were a football team, because I believe it is more than a party, it is an idea, I would say it is Barcelona. It is a team with history, it comes from far away and goes very far.”
