Gogo Mastrokosta funeral held in an atmosphere of deep grief

Friends, relatives, and colleagues gathered today, Wednesday (27/5), to say goodbye to Gogo Mastrokosta, who passed away at the age of 55.

The funeral service is currently taking place at the Holy Church of Agia Triada in Elliniko, while the burial will follow in Evinochori, Messolonghi, her place of origin.

Preparations for the ceremony began early in the morning, and Gogo Mastrokosta’s body was transferred to the church shortly before 11:00 a.m.

Details regarding the funeral had been announced through a social media post by her daughter, Viktoria Dellas, whom she had with her husband and former footballer Traianos Dellas.

The family has requested that, instead of wreaths, donations be made to the “Floga” Foundation, supporting the organization’s work for children suffering from cancer and neoplastic diseases. A special donation box will be placed inside the church for this purpose.

Specifically, the announcement stated:

“On behalf of the family, the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 at the Holy Church of Agia Triada in Elliniko.

The burial will follow at the chapel of Saint George in Evinochori, Messolonghi, my mother’s hometown, for those who wish to attend.

Instead of wreaths, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Floga Foundation. A donation box will be available inside the church for any contribution.”

The fitness instructor and former model passed away in the early hours of Monday (25/05) at Evangelismos Hospital, where she had been hospitalized following a deterioration in her health condition.

Gogo Mastrokosta first entered television studios and Greek households as a TV fitness instructor during the 1990s. She later appeared in numerous photoshoots and television series, and also briefly pursued a singing career.

 

She became one of the ultimate sex symbols of that decade, while in recent years she had launched her own clothing collection.
