Weather: Minor deterioration with a drop in temperature and rain

The summer weather that prevailed in recent days, with temperatures reaching up to 35°C, is changing.

In the coming hours, there will be a minor deterioration in weather conditions, with a drop in temperature, rain, and thunderstorms in various parts of the country.

Small showers will also be seen in Attica today, Friday (29/05), as the EMY forecasts a few clouds, temporarily increasing until midday.

Weather forecast for Friday (29/05)

In central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the northern Aegean, eastern Sterea, and Evia: temporarily increased clouds with local rain showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the morning.
In the rest of the country: generally clear weather with local clouds at noon and in the afternoon, mainly in central and southern mainland areas and Crete, where local rain or showers will occur, and sporadic thunderstorms mainly in the Peloponnese.

Visibility will be locally limited in the morning, especially in the west.

Winds will blow from northern directions at 3–5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 in the Aegean, weakening in the evening in the west and north.

Temperature will drop slightly, mainly in the east, reaching 26–28°C in most areas and locally 29–30°C in central mainland regions.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

Weather: In western Macedonia, generally clear with a few temporary clouds. In other areas, local clouds until afternoon with light rain or showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms in Chalkidiki.
Winds: From northern directions 3–5 Beaufort, temporarily up to 6 in central Macedonia early morning. From afternoon, variable 3–4 and temporarily in Thermaikos, south-southeast up to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: 15–26°C, locally up to 28°C. In western Macedonia, minimum 2–3°C lower.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN STEREA, WESTERN PELOPONNESE

Weather: Mostly clear with a few temporarily increased clouds at noon and afternoon, with local rain or showers mainly inland, and sporadic thunderstorms in western Peloponnese.
Winds: North-northwest 3–5 Beaufort.
Temperature: 18–30°C, 3–4°C lower inland in Epirus.

THESSALY, EASTERN STEREA, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE

Weather: Few temporarily increased clouds until afternoon, with local rain or showers. Isolated thunderstorms in the morning in the Sporades and Evia; from midday, sporadic short-lived thunderstorms mainly in eastern Peloponnese.
Winds: North-northeast 3–5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 in the east. From afternoon, east-northeast 3–5 Beaufort.
Temperature: 16–29°C, locally up to 30°C.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Weather: Mostly clear with a few clouds, temporarily increasing in Crete midday–afternoon; local rain or showers in mountainous areas.
Winds: West 3–5 Beaufort, turning from morning in Cyclades and from midday in Crete to north directions locally up to 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: 17–26°C, up to 28°C in Crete.

EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANESE

Weather: Generally clear with occasional clouds in the north.
Winds: North 4–5 Beaufort, gradually locally up to 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: 18–28°C.

ATTICA

Weather: Few temporarily increased clouds until midday, with local rain or showers.
Winds: North-northeast 4–5 Beaufort.
Temperature: 17–29°C.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: Generally clear with temporary clouds at noon and afternoon; chance of showers in nearby mountainous areas.
Winds: North-northwest 3–5 Beaufort, temporarily up to 6 early morning; from afternoon, south-southeast 3–4 Beaufort, temporarily up to 5.
