Femicide in Drama: Funeral held for 45-year-old victim amid deep grief

In an atmosphere of profound sorrow, family members, friends and fellow officers gathered to say their last goodbye to the 45-year-old police officer who was killed by her husband, also a police officer, in Drama.

The funeral service is being held at the Church of Saint Demetrius in Kato Nevrokopi, the victim’s hometown, amid deep grief and emotion.

At the same time, the funeral of the 50-year-old DIAS motorcycle police unit officer is set to take place in the village of Koudounia, Drama.

Meanwhile, the findings of the forensic examination are shocking. According to the report, the victim suffered seven stab wounds inflicted with a sharp object measuring more than 10 centimeters in length.

The fatal blow pierced her heart, while the remaining injuries were found in her lungs and surrounding tissues, confirming the brutality of the attack.

The forensic examination found no injuries indicating that a struggle had taken place beforehand, a detail that strengthens the possibility of a surprise attack. Investigators also found no wounds caused by any metal object other than the murder weapon.

The perpetrator was found dead from a gunshot wound to the left temple, while tranquilizer pills were also discovered inside the house.

Authorities have ordered toxicology tests on both bodies in order to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
