The earthquake occurred west of the Strofades islands in the Ionian Sea, with no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the Greek island of Zakynthos early on Monday morning, June 22.

According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, the earthquake occurred at 6:30 a.m. local time, approximately 310 kilometers west-southwest of Athens.

The epicenter was located in the Ionian Sea, around 59 kilometers west of the Strofades islands.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or material damage following the tremor. Authorities continue to monitor the situation, while Greece’s seismic monitoring services are assessing the event.
