Takis Gonias has died – Mourning in Greek football

Blow after blow is hitting Greek sport and, in particular, football, as Takis Gonias is no longer alive. The former footballer, who later pursued a coaching career, passed away at the age of 54, as announced by PAE Levadiakos.

“PAE Levadiakos expresses its deepest sorrow over the loss of Takis Gonias.

Takis Gonias served Greek sport with ethos, personality, and passion for football, leaving his own distinct mark through his important career in Greek and European stadiums. The sadness is even greater for the Levadiakos family, as he made his first steps in football at our club, honouring the club’s shirt for five years. His memory will remain alive through his course and his contribution to the sport, but above all through his loved ones.
