“Blackout” on Ermou Street and surrounding areas caused a power outage in shops, leading to disruption among employees and customers.

“Blackout” which resulted in several shops on Ermou Street and surrounding streets being left without electricity, causing disruption for staff and consumers, occurred early on Wednesday afternoon (1/7).
The fault plunged clothing stores, optical shops, food service outlets and supermarkets into darkness — in some cases generators were activated to keep refrigerators running, while alarm systems also began to sound.
A DEDDIE crew rushed to the scene and identified the fault, while work began to restore electricity supply.
After 13:20, power began to be gradually restored.
