Doctors at Hippocrates Hospital in Thessaloniki are preparing to extubate the seven-year-old girl from Moldova, who is being treated there following the fatal road accident in Halkidiki that claimed the lives of her parents and her six-month-old sister.

Patricia has suffered fractures throughout her body and is fighting for her life. Today, doctors will make the first attempt to wake the young girl, who has been intubated in the hospital’s paediatric intensive care unit since last Wednesday.

According to ERT, the seven-year-old’s aunt, her mother’s sister, arrived in Thessaloniki yesterday and will assume temporary guardianship of the minor.

Procedures for the repatriation of the bodies are also expected to begin today. The report on the causes of the road accident, as well as the findings of the post-mortem examinations, are expected to be issued later this week.
