Metro Line 3: Which stations will close earlier starting Sunday due to construction work

Construction work on Metro Line 3 will result in the temporary closure of six stations during nighttime hours. A special bus service will operate to accommodate passengers.

Rail replacement works are continuing on Line 3 of the Athens Metro, with construction moving to the Ambelokipi–Halandri section from Sunday, October 11. Temporary nighttime service adjustments will be implemented during the works.
According to an announcement by STASY (Urban Rail Transport), from Sunday, October 11, through Thursday, October 15, and from Sunday, October 18, through Thursday, October 22, the following stations will close early:
- Panormou
- Katehaki
- Ethniki Amyna
- Holargos
- Nomismatokopio
- Agia Paraskevi
The six stations will close at 9:40 p.m. (21:40), two and a half hours earlier than the scheduled end of service.
During the construction works, Line 3 trains will operate on two separate sections: Dimotiko Theatro–Ambelokipi and Halandri–Doukissis Plakentias–Airport.

- From Panormou at 21:42
- From Katehaki at 21:44

Services to and from Athens International Airport

Following the start of construction works at 21:40, trains heading to the Airport will depart from Halandri station, while trains departing from the Airport will terminate at Halandri.
The revised schedule is as follows:
Halandri to Airport:

Special X20 replacement bus service
To accommodate passengers, the Athens Urban Transport Organisation (OASA) will operate a temporary replacement bus service, Route X20, “Ambelokipi Metro Station – Halandri Metro Station.”
The service will run on the specified dates, from Sunday to Thursday, from 21:40 until the end of Metro operating hours.
The X20 route will serve all six temporarily closed Metro stations, connecting Ambelokipi and Halandri.
Towards Halandri Metro Station
The bus will stop at:
- Ambelokipi Metro Station: Temporary starting point on Panormou Street, between Alexandras Avenue and Vatopediou Street.
- Panormou Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Katehaki Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Ethniki Amyna Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Holargos Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Nomismatokopio Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Agia Paraskevi Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Halandri Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
Towards Ambelokipi Metro Station
The bus will stop at:
- Halandri Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Agia Paraskevi Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Nomismatokopio Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Holargos Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Ethniki Amyna Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Katehaki Metro Station: Existing bus stop.
- Ambelokipi (final stop): Temporary drop-off point on Alexandras Avenue, approximately 20 metres before the traffic lights.
