An arson attack occurred at 4:00 PM inside the NTUA campus in Zografou, near the student club, on a parked car belonging to a professor from NTUA.
Specifically, the car belongs to Professor Dimitris Karonis, who had authored the 123-page report on the Tempi train accident. In his report, Karonis attributed the fireball that was created after the collision to the silicone oil in the engines of the two trains.
A team from the Fire Department arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. However, no remnants of an incendiary device were found, leading authorities to believe that the unknown perpetrators had poured flammable liquid on the car and set it on fire.
The incident is being investigated by the State Security.
