Case file against well-known model, TikToker and rapper for advertising illegal gambling games

The Cyber Crime Division has filed a standard case file against four Greek nationals for the illegal promotion/advertising of gambling games conducted by unlicensed providers via the internet.

Among the accused are a male well-known model and influencer, a well-known rapper, and two TikTokers.

The case was initiated following a complaint by the Hellenic Gaming Commission (E.E.E.P.), according to which the four account administrators via Instagram engaged in July 2025 in the illegal promotion/advertising of gambling games operated through websites that had not received the required license from the aforementioned Commission.

The above were brought to the attention of the Athens First Instance Prosecutor’s Office, which ordered a preliminary investigation. This was followed by an extensive and thorough online and digital investigation, as well as the collection and analysis of informational data and evidence, through which the accused were identified as the administrators of the accounts/profiles involved in the case.

As established by the investigation, the accused carried out illegal advertising actions, exploiting the fact that they are highly recognizable individuals with significant influence on social media, functioning in this way as “influencers”.

It is noted that the advertised websites were included in the relevant blacklist maintained by the Hellenic Gaming Commission (E.E.E.P.), where, according to the law, internet service providers (ISPs) are obliged to block access to them, as they provide unlicensed gambling and betting services.

The case file formed for commercial communication regarding gambling games organized or conducted without a license, in their capacity as advertisers, has been submitted to the competent prosecuting authority.
