A criminal charge of intentional murder in a calm mental state has been filed against the 54-year-old man, who is accused of murdering a 20-year-old in Ammoudara, the Municipality of Malevizi, in Heraklion.
Additionally, according to neakriti.gr, he faces charges for the illegal possession and use of a firearm, as well as illegal ammunition possession and firearm usage.
At the same time, a criminal charge was also filed against his wife for simple complicity in the murder, as she was with him during the deadly attack.
Both accused individuals appeared before the judicial authorities and were granted a postponement to testify on Monday at 14:30.
New Details Regarding the Execution of the 20-Year-Old
Meanwhile, more details are emerging regarding the execution of the 20-year-old. The 54-year-old rammed the passing vehicle of the 21-year-old, immobilizing it, then stepped out and shot the unfortunate victim six times, while the victim tried to fight back, attempting to kick the perpetrator’s hand holding the gun, but to no avail.
The perpetrator emptied the .38 caliber revolver into the victim and then returned to his car, dropped off his wife at home, and left.
He then took his motorcycle and headed to the Malevizi Police Station, where he turned himself in, explaining that the murder was due to his conflicts with the victim, and handed over the revolver he used, which contained six live .38 special rounds.
His wife was arrested for mental assistance in the crime, as it seems she urged her husband to take retaliatory action for the death of their 17-year-old son and played a decisive role in the decisions of the perpetrator, which is part of the ongoing investigation.
Police Forces Outside the Homes of the Two Families
The prosecutor himself went to the Heraklion Police Directorate to file the charges for security reasons, and police forces have been stationed outside the homes of both families out of fear of retaliation.
