An incident of domestic violence allegedly took place on Saturday afternoon in the Pantanassa area of Heraklion.
Specifically, according to information from cretalive.gr, police report that a 30-year-old man allegedly struck his 27-year-old wife with his car at a time when three of their four underage children were also passengers in the vehicle.
Passing drivers who saw the bloodstained woman on the side of the road alerted the Police and the National Emergency Center (EKAB). The young mother is currently hospitalized at the University General Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI) with craniocerebral injuries.
The 30-year-old husband reportedly claimed that while the family was in transit, the young woman opened the door and jumped out, resulting in her injury. However, as the preliminary investigation progressed, the evidence shifted, and the 30-year-old became a suspect in the incident.
He was eventually arrested and brought before the prosecutor. He has been criminally charged with attempted murder and was granted a deadline to testify on Tuesday.
