Today at 19:00, a test message will be sent to all mobile phone users in Cyprus, as announced by the Minister of the Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou.
The message aims to familiarize citizens with the Civil Protection service, given the ongoing unstable situation in the area. For prevention purposes, it is recommended that citizens remain alert, so that if necessary, they can take the following self-protection measures.
According to Kathimerini Cyprus, here are the three messages that citizens will receive in case of an emergency:
Message 1:
Civil Defense Announcement
Take preventive self-protection measures
Given the ongoing unstable situation in the area and for the purpose of prevention and proper population preparation, citizens are advised to remain alert, so that if necessary, they can take the following self-protection measures.
Message 2:
An investigation into a potential security incident is underway. Citizens are urged to follow the Civil Defense’s recommendations until further official updates. They are asked to remain calm and follow the instructions below.
Message 3:
You are informed that the security incident has ended.
