Emmanuel Macron in Souda – Welcomed by Nikos Dendias

The French president arrived shortly after 17:00 at the 115th Fighter Wing and boarded an H90 helicopter bound for the French aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle.”

At around 17:30, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, arrived at the 115th Fighter Wing in Chania, where he was welcomed by the Minister of Defense, Nikos Dendias, as well as the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Dimitrios Choupis.
Mr. Macron had a brief conversation with the Minister of Defense. Afterwards, he flew by H90 helicopter to the aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle,” which is already in the sea area off Chania, in order to carry out an inspection. After completing his visit to the French aircraft carrier, he will return to Paris.
Στη Σούδα ο Μακρόν – Τον υποδέχθηκε ο Νίκος ΔένδιαςIt is recalled that earlier Mr. Macron took part in a trilateral meeting with the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides at the “Andreas Papandreou” air base in Paphos.
Macron’s post in Greek: “It is our responsibility to protect our citizens and prevent an escalation in the region.”
“We did not want this war, but we have the responsibility to do everything in our power to protect our citizens, our economies, and to prevent an escalation in the region, in Lebanon and in the Middle East,” Emmanuel Macron said, among other things, in a post written in Greek.
“Together with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, we are working for security around Cyprus and in the Eastern Mediterranean,” he added.
