Evia: Twin newborns die after premature home birth

Twin newborns who were born prematurely at a home in Evia have died. Their 29-year-old mother has been taken to hospital.

An unspeakable tragedy unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday (September 2) in Evia, with two babies losing their lives.
According to information from eviareporter, the 29-year-old woman, who was in the seventh month of a twin pregnancy, gave birth prematurely to the two babies at her home following a complication.
The mother and the two newborns were transported by private means to Chalkida Hospital shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, where medical staff immediately mobilised.
Doctors attempted to save the two premature newborns, but despite their efforts, the babies were pronounced dead.
The 29-year-old remains under medical supervision, while according to the local news outlet, her health condition is not considered a cause for concern.
The exact circumstances surrounding the tragic incident have not yet been made known.
