The fire that broke out in the ground-floor storage area of a hotel at 5 Dorou Street, in Athens’ Omonia district, was brought under control quickly.
Hotel guests were evacuated safely via the stairwell with the assistance of firefighters. Fire crews are now ventilating the building to clear the smoke caused by the blaze.
A total of 25 firefighters, seven fire engines, as well as a hydraulic platform and a turntable ladder truck, were deployed to the scene.
