The 53-year-old woman who was shot by her husband at their home in Holargos is being treated at G. Gennimatas Hospital.
The woman, who is hospitalized out of danger, was shot in the leg by her husband. Police officers who arrived at the scene later applied a tourniquet to her leg and managed to stop the bleeding. She was then transferred to G. Gennimatas Hospital.

Cameras captured the moment police officers and an EKAB ambulance crew arrived on XanthiPPou Street, where the bloody incident took place.
According to a local resident, shortly after 11 p.m. a gunshot was heard, followed by a voice shouting “help,” and immediately afterward a second gunshot.
According to information from the victim’s friends and relatives reported by ERT, the woman had been receiving threats from her 57-year-old husband in recent times.
Despite the tense atmosphere of recent days, neighbors said there had been no loud argument that evening to foreshadow the tragedy that would follow.
It is worth noting that both spouses were actively involved in sport shooting, which explains the legal possession of the two firearms found at the scene.
How the tragic incident in Holargos unfolded
The incident occurred at around 11:00 p.m. Initially, the 53-year-old woman called emergency police services to report a domestic violence incident, saying that her husband had threatened her.
The 57-year-old man allegedly shot his wife in the leg and injured her following an altercation between them. He then turned the gun on himself and shot himself in the head.
According to initial reports, the woman was taken injured to Gennimatas Hospital, while the man died at the scene.
Police officers found the man dead inside the apartment, with the pistol he used lying beside him.
A team from the police security division arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances of the incident, while authorities are also examining whether there had been a prior history of domestic violence and threats.
