Kefalonia: Mystery surrounds the death of the 19-year-old – The hotel and the message to her friend

Toxicological and histological tests, as well as the autopsy to be conducted on the 19-year-old’s body at the forensic service of Patras, are expected to provide answers regarding the cause of her death.

It is recalled that the young woman was found unconscious in the early hours of Tuesday (15/04) in a square in Argostoli, on K. Vergoti Street, with passersby alerting emergency services (EKAV). She was transported by ambulance to the island’s hospital, where she later died despite doctors’ efforts.

Through the analysis of video footage from the area, authorities identified the individuals who had been with her and abandoned her in a semi-conscious state in the middle of the road without offering any assistance.

The hotel and reports of drugs

Three young men, who were arrested for endangerment, had earlier been with the 19-year-old at a hotel in Argostoli. They include a 26-year-old Greek, a former weightlifting champion previously linked to drug-related cases, another 23-year-old Greek, and a 22-year-old Albanian.

One of them has already admitted that they had used drugs together, panicked when the girl lost consciousness, and left her there. Urine and blood samples will be taken from the three suspects for toxicological analysis to determine whether they had indeed used drugs. The 19-year-old had no visible injuries on her body.

“Let’s do something for my child’s soul”

“My child was respectable, she was a student, she got involved with the wrong company, I don’t know what happened,” her father told Mega, describing the constant concern he felt every time his daughter left the house and asked him, “How do I look, dad?” “You’re beautiful, you’re stunning. Be careful, because there are demons out there with angelic faces,” he would reply.

“My child had an angelic face and soul. They gave her something and threw her away. Let’s do something for my child’s soul,” he said.

The 19-year-old’s last communication with her mother

Her mother spoke to the same channel about their final conversation in the early hours of the morning. “I spoke to her around 2:30 a.m. and told her: ‘My Mirtoula, please be careful. We love you very much, both your dad and I.’ ‘I love you too, mom,’ she replied. A friend she was with had met a boy, and he must have given her some drugs and then abandoned her. That bastard later sent a message to her friend saying that ‘we’ve left her there.’ They abandoned my child.”
