Veteran actress Maro Kontou was admitted to Attikon Hospital on Monday, June 15, where she remains hospitalized with a respiratory condition while receiving treatment in the hospital’s Cardiology Clinic.
The news of her admission was confirmed by Michalis Giannakos, president of the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees (POEDIN), who stated that the actress is under continuous medical supervision.
At the same time, specialist pulmonologists are closely monitoring her condition and reportedly consider her health situation to be serious.
“My colleagues at Attikon informed me that during yesterday’s hospital shift, Ms. Kontou arrived with a respiratory problem. She is currently being treated in the Cardiology Clinic and is being monitored by pulmonologists. Her condition is serious, and doctors and nursing staff are making every possible effort to help her recover. We are talking about an elderly woman, and we are doing everything we can. We hope she pulls through,” said the POEDIN president during an interview on the television program Buongiorno.
