The water level in Mornos Lake has risen significantly due to continuous hydrological changes, resulting in a substantial increase in water levels.
Images from the Eurokinissi photo agency reveal the condition of the artificial lake, which is a key reservoir for the water supply of Athens.
The increased water level has led to the complete submersion of the village of Kallio, which had been abandoned and expropriated for the construction of the lake.
Kallio has now become one of the most prominent examples of the impact caused by the creation of Mornos Lake in the region.
