Olympiacos won the 4th European championship in its history and celebrated it exactly as it deserved. Fans flooded the streets of Piraeus, patiently waiting for Giorgos Bartzokas’ team to arrive so they could give them a hero’s welcome.

Olympiacos and Greek basketball are still celebrating another European trophy. The Reds won the EuroLeague for the fourth time in their history, filling their supporters all over Greece with pride.

After the emotional scenes at the T-Center, with tears from Sasha Vezenkov, Kostas Papanikolaou, and even former player Giorgos Printezis, the celebrations moved further south, to Piraeus.

As SPORT24 reports, once the award ceremony and wild celebrations at OAKA were over, Olympiacos returned to its hotel in central Athens.

There, the team boarded an open-top bright red bus and headed towards Piraeus, escorted by more than 1,500 motorcycles and thousands of fans.

A red river of supporters along Syngrou Avenue turned night into day for Olympiacos. Just before 5 a.m., the European champions arrived at Korai Square in central Piraeus.

More than 100,000 Olympiacos fans were waiting there to celebrate Giorgos Bartzokas’ triumphant team, as well as the presidents of Olympiacos BC, Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos.

Dozens of flares, songs, chants, and fireworks created a festive atmosphere in the center of Piraeus. In front of the illuminated Municipal Theatre, a stage had been set up where the team appeared and received a thunderous ovation, lifting the trophy in front of ecstatic red-and-white supporters.

Kostas Papanikolaou and Sasha Vezenkov moved the crowd with their speeches. The Olympiacos captain even organized the “stands,” leading chants and singing together with the fans. Meanwhile, Fournier stood stunned, holding his head in disbelief at the massive sea of supporters before him, while all the Olympiacos players enjoyed the moment with huge smiles on their faces.

The atmosphere was entirely festive and, while the heart of the celebrations was in the center of Greece’s largest port, Olympiacos fans also took to the streets in many other Greek cities to celebrate the club’s fourth European championship.
