Parnitha forest fire – Large-scale firefighting operation underway

A fire broke out in a forest area in Parnitha. Strong firefighting forces are at the scene.

A state of emergency was declared by the Fire Department on Thursday morning (April 30th) after a call was made regarding a fire at the location of Mavrovouni in Parnitha, below the casino.
The fire has erupted in a forested area, and the Fire Department was alerted to the incident at 11:45 AM.
To extinguish the fire, 95 firefighters with 22 vehicles, 5 walking units, 4 aircraft, the Ikaros UAV team, volunteers, and municipal water trucks are working on the scene.
The area is difficult to access, which is complicating the firefighting efforts. According to reports, the fire is being handled.
Due to the fire, vehicle traffic has been suspended on Parnitha Avenue, starting from the cable car station.
