The mass departure of travelers from Piraeus port has begun for the Pentecost long weekend.

Traffic at Piraeus Port is heavy, with large numbers of people starting their trips ahead of the long weekend. According to employees, ship occupancy reaches 90%.

From early in the morning, Gate E7 of Piraeus Port has been bustling, with three sailings to the Cyclades scheduled by 07:30.

The situation at the port remains normal, while port authorities and the police are on high alert to regulate traffic on surrounding roads. However, as time passes, traffic in the area intensifies, and authorities recommend travelers with morning departures arrive at least 15–20 minutes early. By 09:30, a total of seven sailings to the Cyclades and other island destinations have been scheduled.

The greatest activity is expected in the afternoon, when travelers who work until midday and have not secured an extra day off will depart. From midday onwards, twelve more sailings are scheduled to the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, and other island destinations in the country.

At the same time, the nationwide exams seem to be affecting part of the travelers’ exodus, as many families remain in Athens due to the anxiety and obligations of students participating in the exams.
