Weather Patterns Shifting – Kolydas’ forecast

March is known for bouts of bad weather before spring fully sets in and, although so far it hasn’t “shown its teeth,” it appears that next week it will confirm its reputation.

The weather will remain mild and spring-like until the middle of next week, through Thursday, March 19.

As Thodoris Kolydas writes, the main features in the coming days will be:

• Long periods of sunshine across the country
• Temperatures close to seasonal averages, with the thermometer reaching 16–18°C and locally 19°C in the south
• Local phenomena: On Friday and Saturday, light rain may occur in mountainous areas during the afternoon hours, while on Sunday the weather will include some cloudiness and local showers in the Ionian Sea and mountainous regions

Weather change from Thursday

The stable conditions appear to give way to a more organized spell of bad weather, according to the meteorologist’s forecast.

From Thursday onward, a change in the weather is expected with organized weather systems. These are set to bring significant rainfall affecting the western, central, and southern parts of the country, with the phenomena likely lasting until the following Sunday.
