Following an inspection, the Labour Inspectorate banned passage through a specific section of Attiki station. Read the reason.

An extremely dangerous situation was identified by the Labour Inspectorate at the ISAP (Electric Railway) station in Attiki during an inspection carried out a few days ago.

Specifically, officials from the Inspectorate visited the station last Wednesday to assess the suitability of the station’s pedestrian walkway.

This structure is used by staff (drivers, cleaners, security personnel) to move from train to train and from one track to another. After the inspection, the Inspectorate issued a relevant document prohibiting “the passage of employees from track T9 towards tracks T6 and T7”.

According to information made available to NEWS 24/7, the structure in question, which consists mainly of soundproofing material, has essentially “worn away”, making it at the very least problematic. The risk to employees is immediate, as the pedestrian walkway is located just a few centimeters next to the electrified line, where the voltage is very high. If someone were to fall onto the line, their life would be in immediate danger.

According to complaints by STASY employees, from Wednesday until today the administration has not taken the necessary safety measures. Employees have not been officially informed and have been limited to the information provided by their unions.
