A crime that occurred a few days ago in Anavyssos has been solved.

The homicide of a 42-year-old man, which occurred in the early hours of Monday (22/6) in Anavyssos, has been solved by the Subdivision for Crime Investigation and Resolution of Southeastern Attica.

A special team of police officers was formed, who—after a combined assessment of information and evidence—organized and carried out a nighttime police operation the following day in the Anavyssos area, where they located and arrested three individuals aged 50, 51, and 52.

A case file was opened against them for complicity in obstruction of justice, while the case file also includes a 40-year-old fellow national who has been identified and is being sought, charged with intentional homicide and dangerous bodily harm.

According to the preliminary investigation by the Security Division, the perpetrators met the victim at the home of the 51-year-old suspect on the afternoon of Sunday, 21 June, in Anavyssos.

During the meeting, after heavy alcohol consumption, the four men engaged in a heated argument and came to blows. The 40-year-old then grabbed a tree branch approximately one meter long and 10 centimeters in diameter and struck the 42-year-old on the head.

Subsequently, the suspects—except for the 51-year-old—left the house without informing the police authorities and without ensuring that the victim received immediate medical assistance, resulting in his death.

The arrested individuals were brought before the competent prosecutor.
