The news of the death of actor Pavlos Kourtidis has caused deep sorrow throughout the artistic community. He passed away after a long and courageous battle with a serious illness.
The sad news was announced by Spyros Bibilas through a social media post, in which he paid tribute to a man who made a significant contribution to theater and the arts.
In his post, Bibilas reflected emotionally on Kourtidis’s career and character, describing his passing as a major loss for Greek culture.
“With immense sadness, we learned last night that our dear friend passed away after a long illness. He was the artist who created the PK Theatre in Neos Kosmos, a cultural venue that hosted unforgettable theatrical and dance performances. Pavlos Kourtidis is no longer with us, and his loss is a great blow to our culture.”
Kourtidis was particularly active in the theater world, building a multifaceted career as an actor, director, and choreographer, leaving a lasting mark through his artistic work.
Bibilas continued:
“A tireless worker of the theatre, immensely talented, a choreographer, actor and director. I admired him countless times on stage, and we shared many of the same ideals. He also left his mark on television through Agries Melisses (Wild Bees) and To Kokkino Potami (The Red River). He will be buried in his hometown. My condolences to his beloved family. Pavlos, my dear friend, you will be greatly missed.”
