Shock in Aigio After Double Murder in Longos Village, Where a 26-Year-Old Man and His 54-Year-Old Mother Were Found Dead in a Pool of Blood.

New details have emerged regarding the double murder in the Longos area of Aigialeia, where a 54-year-old woman and her son were found dead in a pool of blood inside their home.

According to reports, both the woman and the 26-year-old victim suffered multiple stab wounds, while the young man also sustained injuries caused by an air rifle.

Police believe the attacker first struck the 26-year-old in the head with the weapon before stabbing him to death.

His mother was found dead outside the room, bearing multiple knife wounds. Investigators say the injuries on her hands indicate she tried to defend herself. Authorities believe she witnessed the killer attacking her son, attempted to intervene, and was then fatally stabbed by the assailant.

54-Year-Old Woman’s Partner at the Center of the Investigation

Police were alerted at around noon by a neighbor who had been contacted by a 65-year-old Italian man, the partner of the 54-year-old victim, who reported finding the two victims dead.

However, the forensic examiner who arrived at the scene determined that both victims had been dead since the early morning hours, approximately between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m.

The woman’s partner, who has been taken in for questioning and is being treated as a suspect, told investigators that he had been inside the house the entire time but in a different part of the property. He also claimed that he did not hear or notice anything unusual.

Police investigators have not accepted that account. No knife was found next to the victims, but detectives have seized all the kitchen knives that appeared to have been cleaned, as well as a knife discovered stuck in a flower pot outside the house, which showed no traces of blood.

All of the items will undergo forensic examination at Hellenic Police laboratories, as investigators believe the weapon used in the double murder may have been cleaned after the attack.

The 65-year-old Italian man is therefore being questioned as the prime suspect in the case. So far, however, he has denied any involvement in the killings.
