An unbelievable incident unfolded in Serres, with a family finding themselves confronted with the face of another deceased person when they were called to collect their relative from the morgue.
According to information from ERT Serres, when the deceased man’s daughter was called to collect her father from the morgue, she was shocked to discover that the body belonged to someone else.
She notified the police and filed a complaint, while her lawyer will ask the prosecutor for permission to exhume a deceased person who was buried in Xanthi, in a Muslim cemetery, as the family has strong suspicions that it is their own relative.
The hospital administration has ordered an Urgent Sworn Administrative Inquiry to determine responsibility and hold accountable those responsible for this tragic incident.
